In the world of sports broadcasting, a traditional dress code usually prevails, with announcers wearing suits and ties to present game previews and halftime updates. However, this standard approach is being challenged – or, actually, totally ignored – by the Manning brothers through their alternative Monday Night Football broadcast, ManningCast, featured on ESPN2. This fresh take on sports commentary breaks away from the usual formalities, offering viewers a unique and engaging experience.
Yes, this even includes the attire they wear on-air.
The ManningCast, created by Omaha Productions, a media company founded by Peyton Manning and Jamie Horowitz offers a viewing experience compared to sports broadcasts. This Emmy award winning show is hosted by the Manning brothers themselves Peyton and Eli both Super Bowl winning quarterbacks. Peyton has already been inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame while Eli will become eligible, for induction in 2025.
Peyton and Eli, who appear on screen beside the game throughout the entire broadcast, often wear matching quarter zips during games. These pullovers have become such a commodity that even former President Barack Obama chose to wear one for the ManningCast episode that he was featured on.
So when Kay Adams, sports media personality and former Good Morning Football host, was preparing to appear during the Week 13 broadcast, she knew exactly how she needed to dress.
“Omg someone postmates me a blue quarter zip,” Adams tweeted shortly before the Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars kicked off on Monday, December 4th.
Thankfully, the team at HYPERLINK “https://www.youtube.com/@Omaha_Productions”Omaha Productions was ready to handle Adams’ request. Midway through the third quarter, Adams was wearing a blue quarter zip and fit in perfectly alongside the Manning brothers. It was a tender moment with one small problem.
“I literally think this is one of your producer’s dad’s. There’s some lasagna on it, I’m not joking.”
Perhaps in a rush to accommodate Adams’ request, the team didn’t double check to make sure they were sending over a clean pullover. Adams also said on the broadcast that the jacket arrived by drone at her house, although she later confessed that she made that part up.
“Kidding. But shoutout to ‘producer Ben’ who raided his dad’s closet and couriered it over to me in 1 quarter. @OmahaProd all class all hands on deck,” Adams tweeted later that evening.
It’s no surprise that Adams was invited onto ManningCast on a week featuring the Cincinnati Bengals. Although she grew up in Chicago, she’s become a Bengals supporter in recent years. She was shown pumping her fist in celebration shortly after coming onto the broadcast when Ja’Marr Chase caught a pass from Jake Browning and ran in a 76-yard touchdown to give the Bengals a seven-point lead. She also predicted a Bengals endzone interception late in the third quarter, which nearly earned her a spot on the Perfect Prediction Board.
Adams joined Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and former Bengals wideout Chad Ochocinco as guests during the Week 13 broadcast. Other high-profile guests on ManningCast this season include Mark Wahlberg, Caitlin Clark, Patrick Mahomes, and Will Ferrell.
Omaha Productions is currently in its third year of existence. Even though Omaha Productions may be considered a company, in the sports media industry it has already surpassed a value of $400 million and has a workforce of over 40 dedicated team members. Jamie Horowitz, who co founded the company alongside Peyton Manning takes on the role of company president and works diligently to support Manning and their shared mission of creating unifying content.
Mark your calendars for January 15th as it marks the airing of the episode of Season Three for ManningCast during the thrilling “Wild Card” weekend, in the NFL.
