As the de facto leader of the Crystal Gems at the moment, garnet is a hybrid of ruby and sapphire. One of the last Gems to remain on Earth, Garnet fought alongside the Crystal Gems in the Rebellion against the Gem Homeworld. Over the ensuing millennia, she helped her allies defend the planet as Garnet Steven Universe. Garnet assumed leadership of the group after Rose Quartz gave birth to her son, Steven Universe, by giving up her physical form.
Many years have passed, and Garnet remains an incredibly stable fusion, content to live a loving and serene life with the Crystal Gems and their pure companions. When Spinel reappeared, she was hit by a Gem Rejuvenator, which erased her memories and split Ruby and Sapphire apart, putting this life in danger. Let’s discuss about Garnet Steven Universe in detail:
Discussing the Appearance of Garnet Steven Universe
- Garnet used to be stoic and aloof, but now that she can see the future clearly, she is prepared to confront events as they come up rather than feeling overwhelmed or under pressure. Right now, garnet is the fourth-shortest fusion and the second-tallest of the surviving crystal gems. Her three eyes are typically covered by shadows.
- Her left eye is medium sapphire-blue, her right is medium ruby-red, and her third eye is eggplant in hue in the middle. Garnet becomes an important part of the whole story. Her hands’ palms are studded with gemstones. She shares Ruby’s deep violet cube-shaped hair and magenta skin tone, while Sapphire’s facial characteristics are more similar to hers.
Initial Form of Garnet Steven Universe
- The first time that Ruby and Sapphire combine to form Garnet is shown in “The Answer”. Garnet has curly hair that is primarily light blue, with magenta skin on the left side that is largely hot pink. Their bodysuit has a diagonal split in it. The right side is light pink in hue and has medium-length sleeves, much like Ruby’s bodysuit. The right sleeve and collar are made of a drab indigo cuff/collar.
- The left side is dull indigo with a little puffed pale blue sleeve, similar to Sapphire’s outfit. On her left arm, from her elbow to the tips of her fingers, she likewise sports a drab indigo glove. Her half-dress, dull and blue, ends where it falls a little below her hips.
- On her right leg, her leggings are hot pink, while on her left, they are boring indigo. She lacks a left boot and wears a tall, drab indigo boot on her right foot. Unlike her later regenerations, she does not have a visor. When Garnet refuses, this form resurfaces in a flashback from Steven Universe: The Movie and “Now We’re Only Falling Apart”.
Story for Steven: 1980s-90s Regeneration
- Garnet Steven Universe’s bodysuit is red, white, and black in the episodes “Story for Steven,” “We Need to Talk,” and “Greg the Babysitter,” which take place in a flashback to the early 1980s. The upper part is maroon, with red puffy sleeves, a misty rose collar, and a zigzag pattern.
- Her feet toes and heels are the color of mulberry, while the bottom part is black. Her hair is the same length as her current design but the same size as her debut design, her shades are yellow and blue colored, and she is not wearing gloves. Her gauntlets match her original design exactly.
Pre-Regeneration of Character
- Her skin tone was medium red, and her black hair was arranged into an afro cube. She nearly always covers all three of her eyes with triangular, translucent, peach-colored, futuristic shades. Her outfit consisted of a bodysuit in black and crimson, along with cubic shoulder pads (the left one was crimson, the right one was brink pink) and a light pink star with a brink pink outline on her breast.
- Garnet Steven Universe also had long black gloves on that covered her middle fingers to the elbow. This form also makes a fleeting appearance in Steven Universe: The Movie and in the flashback of “Three Gems and a Baby”. Garnet wore the same bodysuit from “Jail Break” to “Together Alone,” but the pattern and color palette were different.
- Her bodysuit went from red and black to a more vibrant shade. A midnight stocking covered her right half, while a dark orchid stocking covered her left. She also developed a change in skin tone, going from red to a gentle cerise. Her weaponry took on a deep crimson hue. But the light aura that emerges when calling them becomes pale magenta, and there’s a black ring around the outside nearest her arms.
The Personality of Garnet Steven Universe
- As demonstrated repeatedly throughout the series, Garnet frequently acts on instinct rather than carefully considering the circumstances at hand, despite being the most plain and pragmatic of the Crystal Gems. As the leader of the Crystal Gems, Garnet frequently mediates disputes between Pearl and Amethyst.
- She expects the highest regard from the other Crystal Gems and will not hesitate to chastise team members for disobedience. Sapphire gives Garnet its mellow, equable nature, which allows it to maintain composure under most circumstances. This is demonstrated in the episode “The Return,” where Amethyst and Pearl struggle to explain to Steven why he was not allowed to battle alongside them at the Gem Warship’s landing.
- The only Crystal Gem, Garnet Steven Universe, was able to persuade Steven to join Beach City’s evacuation by making their point. Despite the perilous and unpredictable circumstances, she managed to maintain her composure and behave sensibly.
Conclusion
Garnet has proven to have a strong moral compass and to take her role as a leader seriously. When Pearl lies to Garnet in “Cry for Help” about Peridot constructing the Communication Tower so they may form Sardonyx and about wasting time looking for Peridot, Garnet Steven Universe is profoundly troubled. Garnet is a decent person who values the team’s ethics, but her quiet, stoic demeanor occasionally makes it difficult for her to communicate her emotions to her teammates.
